Ms. Morristown caught up with Sydney Thomas, Director of Events and Field Marketing for 40North Restaurants, to dive into its delectable eateries and learn more about its mission to “help Morristown grow and prosper.”
While attending Fairleigh Dickinson University and studying Hospitality, Sydney held internships at various venues and spent a summer with the Somerset Patriots. After graduating, she became the Events Manager for local venues Natirar and the Hilton Short Hills before finding her career with 40North Restaurants.
“Being organized and planning every detail of my life has just been who I was since I was very young, so this career path only seemed right,” Sydney says. “Nothing fulfills me more than seeing an event I’ve been planning for days, months, or even years finally come to life.”
According to Sydney, 40North is not just a business; they are part of Morristown’s DNA. These connections have been the secret sauce behind their growth and continued prosperity.

So, what’s Sydney’s favorite dish of all the 40North Morristown menus? While some might expect a fancy dish recommendation, Sydney surprises us with her answer.
“Hands down, the Carne Asada at NOM. The flavors will surprise you and it never seems to get old!”
Sydney also shared some exciting news with us: 40North has expanded its footprint into Newark Airport. Three of their local brands — Office Tavern Grill, Town bar + kitchen, and Piattino Neighborhood Bistro — have landed in the international terminal, placing Morristown’s dining scene on the map for travelers worldwide.
With its appreciation for upscale flavors and dining experiences, Sydney admits that Morristown is the perfect canvas for 40North’s vision.
“The best part of doing business in Morristown is the community. It’s a small-town feel on a larger scale,” Sydney says. “It’s great to have three restaurants in a town that embraces our vision.”
